Are your sins in the past? They are supposed to be. I’m certainly not saying that we never sin but for a Believer, the scripture reveals that the sinful habits which once characterized us should be behind us. Now we who have obtained the power over sin through faith in Him and His Holy Spirit, our lives should be characterized by victory over sin, not defeat. Notice the past tense of key words:
1. WERE DEAD
Eph 2:1-3” And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;”
2. WALKED
“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”
3. HAD CONVERSATION
“Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;”
4. WERE BY NATURE
“and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”
LESSON - The victory we have received through salvation is NOW and FOREVER, so live like it!
1. WE ARE
V10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained”
2. SHOULD (future)
“that we should walk in them.”
