Imagine a world wherein everything defiled by sin has been removed. Such will be the case when God remakes Heaven and Earth.
1. Sinless people will need a sinless home.
-Heaven was first touched by sin through Satan’s iniquity. Earth was touched by sin through man’s iniquity. BOTH will be remade.
Rev. 21:1-6a “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away and there was no more sea.”
2. The tabernacle of God will descend from heaven.
-The fellowship which we have with God will no longer be hindered by sin. We shall fellowship with him face to face for all of eternity.
“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”
3. Sin’s effects will finally be eradicated.
-God Himself will remove the emotional and physical scars of sin.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
4. Here is where time will finally end and eternity will begin!
-We were made for eternity! Though sin will impact the lost for all of eternity, it’s impact on us will become a distant memory in the minds of God’s people. We will see the conclusion of God’s ultimate plan for the universe.
“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.”
5. Everything will be accomplished by the spoken word of God.
-The same voice that created the universe and everything that is in it will speak once again to renew it all.
“And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.”
LESSON - FOREVER NEW!! Imagine a world so complete that it needs no sun. Imagine a world where the law of thermodynamics no longer applies because everything new will remain new. Imagine a world where sin is no more. Our eternal home will be the VERY BEST that an all-powerful, all-loving, all-knowing God can create and we will live there for all of eternity in new bodies that will never die. Glory to God!!
